LUNENBURG COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The town of Victoria in Lunenburg County is under a boil advisory following a waterline break on Nottoway Boulevard.
The water main has been repaired, however residents are urged to used bottled water or boiled tap water for drinking or cooking puurposes until further notice. Failure to follow the advisory could result in stomach or intestinal illness.
“Once normal pressure is restored, the Town will need to flush the system thoroughly and test to ensure the bacteriological quality is acceptable before the boil water notice is lifted,” the Town of Victoria Waterworks said in a release. “We will notify Town customers once reliable service has been restored.
Lunenburg County Schools closed early Wednesday due to the waterline break and will remain closed Thursday.
