ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The man accused in the abduction and murder of both UVa. student Hannah Graham and Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington appeared in court today.
In Jesse Matthew, Jr.’s hearing Thursday at Albemarle County Circuit Court, a judge denied a motion to suppress evidence in connection to the Graham case. The evidence linked Matthew to Graham’s murder and was revealed in his last court hearing.
Police took clothing, toothbrushes, bedding and a cell phone from Matthew’s apartment. The defense said the items police took were not on a search warrant.
The prosecution argued that officers used discretion to seize items not listed on the warrant, such as toothbrushes, bedding and Matthew’s wallet.
