HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Many 8News viewers say they are still dealing with dangerous roads in their neighborhood, but the roads are so bad for one Henrico woman, she says she’s stranded.
It’s been more than 80 hours since the snow stopped falling, and Christy Shingleton is still trapped inside. The reason? Her street has still not been plowed.
“I’m stir crazy now,” said Shingleton.
So, how do you spend 80 hours trapped inside?
“A little bit of reading, some TV, movies, just a little bit of some baking,” she said.
Looking outside, her driveway completely clear, but her road is truly a mess.
“Our street and the cross street by us haven’t been plowed,” she added.
And it’s not for a lack of trying.
“I have a little Honda Civic, so it’s not going anywhere,” she said. “We got it stuck yesterday just trying to rearrange the cars.”
To top it all off, Christy is pregnant, so trying anything too strenuous is out of the question.
“I’d love to see it get plowed in the next day or so,” she said.
Christy says her work is opening late Tuesday, so no matter what, she is going to have to try and see if she can even make it out of her driveway come morning.
