RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond City Councilman Jon Baliles says residents have been calling his office complaining about the roads not being clear after last weekend’s winter storm dumped snow on the area.
The city’s Department of Public Works promised that streets would be treated or plowed by Tuesday night. However, when 8News crews went out Wednesday morning, they found several side streets still in poor condition.
Many Richmonders on the city’s southside found themselves still stuck in the snow Tuesday, trapped in their neighborhood surrounded by side streets that have yet to see a plow.
Councilman Baliles has asked the Department of Public Works to make sure the roads are passable. He also said he plans to bring up the issue during the next town hall meeting.
Councilwoman Reva Trammell says she has also heard over 100 complaints from residents about the road conditions.
