HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Patrick Henry High School was on lockdown after a series of altercations took place Thursday.
School officials sent out an email to parents this afternoon explaining the situation. The altercations were physical and verbal only; no weapons were involved.
Students are safe and normal operations have resumed, officials say.
Here’s the full letter sent out to parents:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We wanted to inform you as quickly as possible that Patrick Henry HS been placed on temporary lockdown due to a couple of altercations that took place in the building a short while ago. All students in the building are safe, and we are continuing with instruction. We anticipate that we will resume normal operations shortly, and we will notify you when the lockdown is lifted.
Each altercation occurred between two students. The responsible students were separated by administrators and law enforcement is on-scene to investigate the incidents. We hope this is helpful in addressing any concerns you may have.
Kind regards,
Dr. Wanda Bibb
Principal”
