RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Five people are displaced after their home in Richmond went up in flames Thursday night.
The fire occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of N. 22nd Street. The caller reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the house. Crews arrived on scene roughly five minutes later. The fire was marked under control at 8:26 p.m.
No one was injured. The Red Cross has been called to assist the three adults and two minors who are displaced.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, although Lieutenant Chris Armstrong with Richmond Fire said preliminary reports indicate it started in the rear of the home.
