RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — After learning that a Publix Super Market would be coming to Henrico on Tuesday, many 8News viewers rejoiced, recounting times they had visited the store while on vacation in Florida or elsewhere.
A grand opening date has yet to be determined, though officials say the Glen Allen store is tentatively planned to open in 2018.
Richmond’s west end is already an oasis of supermarkets. Not only is there a Food Lion on Twin Hickory Road, but Short Pump also has a Martin’s, a relatively new Kroger, and don’t forget the huge new Wegman’s being built on West Broad Street, set to open this spring.
There’s also Fresh Market on Parham Road in Henrico, Ellwood Thompson in the city, along with Walmart and Aldi.
