RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Police are searching for a suspect after a breaking and entering happened early Wednesday morning near VCU’s campus.
VCU sent out an alert Wednesday morning about an “armed subject” in the 100 block of South Pine Street. The alert was updated shortly after and now says that a suspect kicked in the back door of a private residence at 9:48 a.m. and took a rifle, ammunition and a gaming system from the home.
The man was last seen running north through an alleyway towards West Cary Street.
No injuries have been reported.
The suspect is described by VCU Alert as a male dressed in all black and wearing a black ski mask.
Police are on scene and both VCU Police and Richmond police have increased patrols in the area. Richmond Police are leading the criminal investigation.
