RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The showers from yesterday evening and last night continue to move northward as a warm front lifts through the area.
This will allow sunshine to return today and we will be warmer with highs around 90. There is still chance of a late day thunderstorm or two for central Virginia with the main threat being a quick heavy downpour. Our skies will clear out tonight and it will be muggy with lows in the lower to middle 70s.
Tuesday will feature partly sunny skies and it will be hot and humid with highs in the middle 90s.

The heat will continue for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with highs in the middle 90s under partly sunny skies. There is a good chance of afternoon thunderstorms for central Virginia each day, with the main threat being heavy downpours. Looking ahead into the upcoming weekend, sunny to partly sunny skies will be around for Saturday and Sunday with highs around 90 both days.
There is a chance for a few scattered thunderstorms Saturday evening.
