SURF CITY, N.C. (WNCN) – An eighth person was attacked by a shark along the North Carolina coast, a spokesman for the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune confirmed Monday.
WITN reported the attack happened Saturday in Surf City. The hospital spokesman told WITN that a male victim was brought into the hospital and was treated and released.
This is the eighth shark bite off the coast of North Carolina in less than a month and the second one in Surf City. On June 24, an 8-year-old boy received “minor leg and foot injuries” from a shark attack.
