Virginia Zoo welcomes red panda cubs

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — There are two new residents in the Trail of the Tiger exhibit at the Virginia Zoo.

The red panda twins were born June 25 to mother, Bernadette. Zoo officials say the cubs, a boy and a girl, are in good health.

The female weighs 85 grams and the male 78 grams.

The cubs will stay in the nest for more than 90 days. Click here if you would like to see the new babies LIVE.

This is the third set of twins born at the zoo in the last three years.
