CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Ruther Glen woman was killed Monday in a single vehicle crash in Caroline County.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:35 a.m. on Route 658 (Jericho Road) just west of Jefferson Davis Highway.
Police say a 1998 Ford Taurus was traveling on Route 658 when ran off the road right and struck a log that was laying in the ditch line causing the vehicle to go airborne and overturn, coming to rest in the road way.
The driver of the Ford, 32-year-old Dawn M. Williams, of Ruther Glen, died at the scene. She was the only person in the vehicle and was wearing a seatbelt.
Speed and alcohol are not being considered factors in the crash.
Police are still investigating.
