RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Showers and thunderstorms will fade out this evening over the area. Overnight it will be partly cloudy with fog in areas that have seen a good downpour today. Overnight lows will be in the lower to middle 70s.
Wednesday will be a hot and oppressive day with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Add in the mugginess and it will feel closer to the century mark. The risk for thunderstorms tomorrow will be lower in the area compared to today.
Thursday a cold front is going to arrive in the area from the west. It will be very warm and humid ahead of the front with highs in the mid 90s. Once the front arrives, the stage will be set to potentially have some strong thunderstorms late in the afternoon and early in the evening.
That front should exit the coast by Friday morning. So the weather for the end of the week and the weekend looks to be less humid but still warm with mostly sunny skies and highs near 90. The warm weather will continue for the first full week of August, but the humidity will be back.
