MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (AP) – A truck driver who bought a lottery ticket at a truck stop in central Pennsylvania is now $92 million richer, before taxes.
The Pennsylvania Lottery said Wednesday that Steven Peloquin of Mechanicsville, Virginia, claimed the sole winning ticket in a Mega Millions drawing last week.
Lottery officials say the 52-year-old Peloquin has spent nearly 30 years as a professional truck driver.
He purchased the ticket in Milton, Pennsylvania, at a truck stop that will collect $100,000 for selling it.
Peloquin’s win is the fourth-largest prize in Pennsylvania Lottery history. He opted for the cash value payout rather than as an annuity.
He tells lottery officials the windfall will let him retire and spend more time with his family.
