RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Edwin Quirarte struck out eight Binghamton Mets in four innings of work before being pinch hit in the bottom of the fourth. Juan Ciriaco walked to push the go-ahead run home from third, but four pitchers out of the bullpen led to 10 runs given up, Binghamton smashing the Squirrels 11-3 Thursday night.
The loss makes it six straight dropped by the Richmond Flying Squirrels and pushes them further back from the top spot in the Western Division.
Currently Richmond is six games back of the Bowie Baysox. Richmond tries to snap the skid Friday night at 7:05 p.m.
