CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police are investigating a shooting that took place late Thursday in Chesterfield.
Authorities say that officers were dispatched to the 6700 block of West Road for a report of shots fired around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.
As officers were responding, the Emergency Communications Center received multiple calls reporting shots fired in the area of Rollingwood Apartments.
Police ended up finding an adult male victim who was struck by a bullet as he was driving on Sexton Drive between Kim Drive and Stevens Hollow Drive. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Chippenham Hospital by a relative.
Residents in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots. Two residences in the 6400 block of Sexton Drive were also hit by bullets. No one inside either home was injured.
