RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Saturday, Redskins’ head coach Jay Gruden said Bashaud Breeland will miss 4-6 weeks due to a sprained MCL in his right knee. The injury occurred during on-one drills Friday afternoon.
In Breeland’s absence during training camp, the second year head coach claimed other defensive backs would receive extra reps in practice:
Justin Rogers, a seven year NFL veteran with experience the Bills, Texans and Dolphins as well as a Richmond graduate; Kyshoen Jarrett, rookie out of Virginia Tech taken in the 6th round of last year’s draft; and Tevin Mitchel, another rookie drafted in the 6th round from Arkansas.
8Sports talked to Rogers and Jarrett about how those reps could help make their case for a spot on the final Redskins roster.
