Henrico County Police celebrated National Night out by visiting over 70-neighborhoods. A huge celebration was held at Richmond International Raceway. People attended enjoyed plenty of food, music, face-painting, basketball and even clowns.
Residents and police agreed getting together allowed them to talk and socialize which helps their communities, and their relationships.
Governor Terry McAuliffe made an appearance and he said, “It’s important, we’ve had issues around the nation with law enforcement issues, we have to make sure we’re all working together,” said the Governor.
Henrico County Police Chief Douglas Middleton stated, “This is a good opportunity to have a good conversation with the residents in these communities and that is one of the things we look forward to,” said Middleton.
The Governor added events like National Night Out help build stronger communities and having stronger communities helps him attract new jobs to the area.
