GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Nearly a hundred people gathered Tuesday night to remember a Goochland County man murdered in March, his killer still unknown.
62-Year old Alvin Lynn Brooking was found dead in his home on Whitehall Road in Goochland back in march. Just over a week later police served a search warrant on a truck, but are still waiting on forensic results to come back from the state crime lab.Tuesday the focus was solely on Alvin, better known as Lynn to his family and friends. Tuesday would have been his 63rd birthday. Family, friends, and the community released balloons to honor his birthday. They also drank a coke in his honor, as it was his favorite drink. Family and friends say the vigil held in his hometown is about healing and continuing to pray for justice.
“It also gives us an opportunity to let him know we are still looking for answers and we will
continue to look for answers,” said Brooking’s cousin Julie Campbell.
“We came out to celebrate Lynn and his life and to hopefully find the person who did this and make him realize that not only did he hurt Lynn and Lynn’s family but many friends,” said Heather Middlebrook, a friend of the family.
If you know anything about this crime you are asked to call the Goochland County Sheriffs Department.
