RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Just one day after the shooting that left and officer injured and the suspected gunman dead, new details reveal that the deceased suspected gunman, Keyshawn Hargrove, did have a criminal past.
According to court records Hargrove was convicted of malicious wounding, and possession of a firearm.
His older brother Rodriguez Boone told 8News his younger brother should not be judged by his past, “Now granted don’t get me wrong, do I feel like everybody has a past, everyone does absolutely, but to base your actions off of that alone, why even bring up his past when over half of the things of his past was when he was juvenile” said Boone.
The day after the shooting, detectives returned to the scene looking for evidence; bullet holes were found in a nearby home and even in garbage cans on the street. People who were near the scene of the violence said they heard several gunshots.
However, authorities said Hargrove sustained one gunshot. Like the police, Boone said he has heard several rumors of what happened and that it makes him feel uneasy, “I’ve heard like three, four, five different stories, I heard he was hit once, I heard ten times, almost twenty shots to me it just doesn’t make any sense, I don’t know man it just doesn’t add up to me, it just doesn’t,” said Boone.
