RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The nice weekend has quickly been replaced with clouds ahead of our next approaching cold front.
Today we’ll see mostly cloudy skies and a few hit or miss light showers. It won’t be all that wet, just gloomy. Afternoon highs will be near 84 degrees with southerly winds 5 to 15 mph. Tonight will be cloudy with scattered rain and thunderstorms arriving after midnight. Tonight’s low will be around 70 with south winds 5 to 15 mph.
Tomorrow we’ll see widespread rain and thunderstorms. We’ll start off wet, likely see a few hour break from late morning to early afternoon, but more storms will generate in the afternoon. Some of the afternoon storms could be strong, with the main threat being gusty winds. Tomorrow’s high will be near 86. The cold front passes late Tuesday, and will quickly allow skies to clear after that.
By Wednesday we’ll see nearly sunny skies and a high of 84.
Thursday will also be sunny with low 80s.
Friday will be sunny and dry with upper 80s.
Saturday we’ll see increasing clouds, but dry skies.
Sunday and Monday feature partly to mostly cloudy skies, and I’ll keep us dry for now. This is still far out, so there is quite a bit model consistency. A few models are trying to drop down a cold front through the area, while others keep it to the north. Something to watch for Sunday/Monday.
