Beautiful weather expected in RVA this weekend

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — High pressure is still in control which means that we still have dry and mostly sunny skies.

We’ve managed to get enough lift to squeeze out a few clouds, but these will dissipate when we lose the sun’s heating. Tonight we’ll see mainly clear skies and another comfortable night for open windows with a low of 64 in the city, but cooler for outlying areas.

Tomorrow brings mostly sunny skies and a high of 91.

Monday cranks up heat and humidity a bit more to a high of 93 with sunny skies.

Much of Tuesday will be dry, but it looks like storms will arrive late in the afternoon/early evening. Our afternoon high Tuesday will be in the low 90s.

The middle of the week gets tricky. There is little model consistency. Some want to keep around scattered storms for Wednesday and Thursday as a front stalls and is slow to move, while another scenario keeps us nearly dry with just minor storm chances. It’s something we’ll have to keep an eye on early next week to see how this pattern resolves.

I’m going to err on the pessimistic side for now and keep storm chance in the forecast.

Models do agree however with a stronger cold front arriving later in the week and bringing storm chances Friday through next weekend.
