HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A grand jury hearing is scheduled for two suspects charged with the brutal murder of a Hopewell cab driver.
Last August, James Wells was abducted, stabbed multiple times, set on fire and left to die.
Prosecutors says 19-year-old Alisa Dejesus and 21-year-old Dyshawn Simpson hired Wells to drive them to Hanover and then murdered him. Both Dejesus and Simpson are charged with first degree murder.
The prosecutor hopes the horrifying details could serve as the basis for capital murder charges.
