FREDRICKSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Police have arrested a second suspect for his involvement in the incident that led to the stabbing of three men early Sunday morning in Fredricksburg.
The second suspect is a 17-year-old resident of Spotslyvania County and the brother of the juvenile who was taken into custody on Sunday. He is currently being held at Rappahannock Juvenile Detention Center and faces assault by mob charges.
Police identified the victims as Anthony Jermaine Carter, 28, of Albany, Georgia and Mac Oliver Hughes, 30, of Portsmouth, Virginia. The third stabbing victim, a 29-year-old Stafford resident, remains hospitalized.
Police say the victims were part of a group of adults who had attended a party at Jay’s Lounge prior to heading over to Cook Out for a meal. The suspects were part of a group of teenagers who had attended a graduation party before ending up at Cook Out.
The two groups, who didn’t know each other before their encounter in the parking lot, became involved in a verbal argument which quickly escalated into physical assault. During the assault, three of the adult males received stab wounds variously to the chest, back and torso.
