RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A few clouds will be with us this morning giving us a partly sunny start but as the day goes along the dry north wind will help to transition us to mostly sunny skies and it will be very pleasant with highs in the middle 80s.

We can expect mainly clear skies tonight with lows in the lower to middle 60s.

Thursday and Friday will be very nice with mostly sunny skies and highs in the middle 80s.

As we head into the weekend, the winds will turn back to the south and southwest, which will begin to allow the humidity to push back into Central Virginia. We will see partly sunny skies for both Saturday and Sunday with a chance of late day thunderstorms. High temperatures for the weekend will top out in the middle 80s.

Right now, partly sunny skies should stay around for Monday through Wednesday of next week with highs in the upper 80s to near 90.

The last part of the forecast relies heavily on the eventual track of Tropical Storm Erika, which is currently well east of San Juan, Puerto Rico with winds around 40 mph, as of the 2 a.m. advisory.  Erika is moving to the west at 18 mph and very slow strengthening is possible over the next couple of days.  By the end of the weekend, we do expect it will become a hurricane over the Bahamas.  The current consensus of the many forecast models is for a landfall between Miami and Daytona Beach, by early Monday.
