ROANOKE, Va. (WRIC) — Hundreds filled the WDBJ station parking lot Wednesday evening. Some brought flowers, others joined hands in prayer — all of them in attendance to speak peace and comfort in a time of great sorrow.
The people who saw Alison Parker and Adam Ward every day at work say that they are deeply impacted. Photographer Sam Doyle is one of them.
“I mean, passionate about what they do,” Doyle said. “Futures in front of them, very bright.”
Both homegrown talents, Doyle says Parker and Ward stood out from the rest.
“It was a little different with Alison and Adam, they’re both from here,” Doyle said. “Hometown kids that grew up in the same neighborhoods and everything.”
Doyle says the community will honor them best by soldiering ahead.
“We’ll all get through this, celebrate their lives, and then we’ll have to go on,” he said. “We’ll have to go on.”
