NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Americans are dissatisfied, angry, and distrustful, according to a new poll.
A national poll by Quinnipiac University found 71 percent of American voters are dissatisfied with the way things are going in the nation today. Looking at the federal government, 49 percent of voters are dissatisfied but not angry with Washington, while 27 percent are angry.
They found only two percent of voters trust the government all of the time.
Democrats are holding higher favorability than Republicans right now, and it was found that a majority of American voters support new spending by the federal government to help students pay tuition at public colleges.
“Yes I think there’s a lot of dissatisfaction for good reason, primarily the divide between Republicans and Democrats and the fighting in partisanship,” Daniel Hales told 8News sister station WWLP.
The poll also showed the majority of American voters are in favor of abortion in all cases, and want funding to Planned Parenthood to continue.
Quinnipiac surveyed more than 1,500 registered voters nationwide.
