RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — We are just over two weeks away from the big UCI bike race coming to town and as the clock winds down, you’ll notice more road closures as preparations are made.
This could cause some major headaches because this morning, a major portion of Broad Street will be shut down as crews make finishing touches to the race finish line.
Today from 6 to 10 a.m., crews will be cutting vegetation at Broad Street between 4th and 7th streets due to event requirements.
That’s not all, either. Next Tuesday, there will be even more road closures.
All day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as crews pave the finish line. Streets that will be affected include
- East Broad between 8th and 3rd Streets
- 7th Street at East Broad Street
- 5th and 6th between Marshall and East Broad Streets
We’ll keep you posted on all the details as they become available. Stay with 8News for more on the UCI Road World Championships.
