RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — While many of you may be sleeping in this Labor Day, hundreds of people are camping out at Second Baptist Church in Richmond to snag some free shoes for kids.
8News reporter Sydney Cameron says that a lot of people in line Monday morning were camped out since Sunday afternoon for the Richmond Partnership of Churches New Shoes for Back-to-School.
4,000 pairs of new shoes were given away today to kids just a day before school starts for most students. 13 area churches and Saxon shoes have come together to make this possible.
The giveaway started at 8 a.m. and goes until about 4 p.m. The address is 3300 Broad Rock Boulevard in Richmond.
