RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A cold front will be over the region this morning with rain showers off and on throughout the day.
There will even be a few thunderstorms, but severe weather is not expected. It will be a cooler day, than yesterday, with highs in the lower 80s. The showers and thunderstorms should end between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. tonight and our skies will become partly cloudy with lows in the middle to upper 60s.
There might be some fog early Friday morning but partly sunny skies should be around for the entire day with highs in the middle 80s. This will lead to a great evening for High School Football across central Virginia and for the NASCAR Xfinity Series Race at Richmond International Raceway. I expect temperatures tomorrow evening to be in the middle 70s around 7 p.m. under partly cloudy skies with temperatures dropping to 70 by 10 p.m. We will remain partly cloudy for the rest of Friday night into Saturday morning with lows in the upper 60s.

Saturday will start off with some early morning sunshine but clouds will increase quickly by noon with rain developing between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. The rain will continue steady at times for Saturday afternoon, evening and night. This will have an impact on those of you heading to the UVA-Norte Dame game and those heading to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race at RIR. That weather system that brings us the rain Saturday will move out by Sunday morning and much cooler drier air will move into the region.
We will see our skies become partly sunny on Sunday and it will be breezy with highs in the upper 70s.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be delightful with highs from the upper 70s early in the period to the lower 80s by the end of the week under sunny skies.
