WINTERVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A man gets hits by another car while on his way to help a girlfriend who was in a separate accident.
The Highway Patrol says it happened just after midnight on NC 903 South near Frog Level Road in Winterville.
Troopers say a man driving on NC 903 S was on the phone with his girlfriend, who had been in an accident, when he noticed a stop sign. The driver ran the stop sign and ended up in a bean field.
Troopers say when the driver tried to get back on the road, he hit another an oncoming car.
The driver of the oncoming car was taken Vidant Medical Center with minor injuries.
Troopers say NC 903 S was closed for short time while crews removed the cars from the road.
