MECHANICSVILLE, Va. (WRIC) — Police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting in Hanover County.
Deputies responded to the parking lot of the Beaverdam Creek Apartments in the 7200 block of Cold Harbor Road on Monday around 10:00 p.m. in reference to a report of a shooting.
When authorities arrived on scene, they found two males suffering from gunshot wounds.
One male, 21, was suffering from a gunshot wound to his face and the other male, 18, was suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck. Both were transported to the VCU Medical Center for treatment. They both remain in critical condition.
Investigators have determined that both shooting victims were in close proximity to each other and were struck by the same bullet during the commission of a robbery.
As a result of the investigation, 18-year-old Rondell J. Ramsey, of the 6800 block of Cottage Street in Henrico County, has been arrested and charged with robbery, two counts of aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Ramsey is currently incarcerated in Pamunkey Regional Jail.
Police say none of the individuals involved in this incident were current residents of the Beaverdam Creek Apartments.
