SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (NEWS 10) – A former star of one of TV’s most popular 90’s shows was arrested on charges of robbery, criminal mischief, and obstruction of an airway.
Nicolas Brendan, best known for his role as Xander on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, was charged late Wednesday night after an altercation with his girlfriend at the Springs Hotel.
According to police Brendan grabbed his strangled his girlfriend before leaving with her car keys and cellphone.
Police say Brendan was located a short distance away and that they believe alcohol was involved.
Police tell News 10 that the actor has been involved in several incidents with police this past week including calls to check on his welfare.
Brendan played the role with his twin brother Kelly Donovan.
