VCU, UR men’s hoops picked 5th and 6th in A-10 preseason poll

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (WRIC) — At Atlantic 10 Media Day for Men’s Basketball, the VCU Rams and Richmond Spiders were picked fifth and sixth, respectively, in the conference preseason poll.

Four players combined from the two Richmond based colleges were selected to the preseason A-10 third team: Senior guard Melvin Johnson and Junior forward Mo Alie-Cox for VCU; Senior forward Terry Allen and Junior guard ShawnDre’ Jones for Richmond.

Alie-Cox was also selected to the preseason all-defensive team in the conference.
