RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — It’s that time of the year when authorities are warning drivers to be on the lookout for deer.
November is considered the most dangerous month for deer-involved crashes. An official with the DMV told 8News that’s because it’s mating season, and deer are more likely to cross roads. They said deer are most active at dusk and dawn, especially when drivers are traveling home from work.
We caught up with a local resident who hit a deer two weeks after buying a brand new car. He said the accident destroyed the front end of his car and cost him $4,000 in damage. He says the deer came out of nowhere.
