CULPEPER, Va. (WRIC) — A 14-year-old Culpeper County High School student has been detained after he allegedly sexually harassed and assaulted a fellow student.
According to police, a 14-year-old female student reported to her that a fellow student was harassing and assaulted her. The school resource officer and administrative staff investigated the incident and found that a 14-year-old male student reportedly was inappropriately touching the female student and making sexual advances towards her. When she refused, he would then assault her. The most significant accusation was that the male student put the female student in a headlock from the rear and whispered, “If I had a knife, I would slit your throat.”
After further investigation, it was determined that there were additional victims who were involved in multiple incidents with the same suspect.
The suspect is currently being detained at Blue Ridge Juvenile Detention Center in Charlottesville. He is facing one misdemeanor assault and battery charge as well as one felony count of strangulation.
Authorities are still investigating the alleged incidents.
