RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — They toasted to progress on Friday at Richmond’s Stone Brewing Company.
Workers there are installing the last of the massive fermentation tanks that will help make the beer.
“We’ve been watching this ginormous building going up, and it’s great to be inside and see the work that we’ve been able to do,” said Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones.
Added Stone Brewing Company founder Greg Koch, “It’s a privilege to be witnessing what is now the most amazing time and the most amazing place in history to be able to enjoy great beer which is right here and right now with all of you.”
Richmond beat out 20 states for the brewery’s second U.S. facility. The company is predicted to create nearly 300 jobs.
“Stone Brewing is the catalyst for economic development and residential development in this area and for the citizens who live in the Fulton area,” Mayor Jones explained. “They could not be more excited to see Stone coming to be a part of this community.”
Beer is expected to flow from the Stone Brewing Company taps in April.
