COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) — Matthew Brady, the 31-year-old Colonial Heights man who bludgeoned an elderly couple to death in 2011, was sentenced to life in prison on Friday.
Brady confessed his guilt back in July when he pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of robbery in commission with a felony.
In January of 2011, authorities found Joseph and Evelyn Bland bludgeoned to death inside their Colonial Heights home. Brady was arrested and charged in their murders a week later.
