HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A vehicle of interest from a suspicious situation hours before in Henrico County led police on a pursuit that ended with a crash on Staples Mill Road Tuesday night.
At roughly 7:40 p.m., an officer in the City of Richmond spotted a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle of interest out of Henrico County. Once the driver of the vehicle saw the officer, he accelerated rapidly, initiating a pursuit with that officer and nearby Richmond Police units.
The vehicle later crashed on Staples Mill Road at the intersection with Park Lane. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Police would not confirm that this incident was related to the suspicious death that occurred earlier Tuesday afternoon.
