RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The rain and thunderstorms from last night have moved out and our skies are clearing.

We will be seeing mainly sunny skies today and it will be hot but a touch less humid with highs near 90. A few clouds will move back into the region tonight, after midnight, with lows in the lower 70s.

Thursday will feature clouds and sunshine and it will be hot and humid with highs near 90. There is a chance of late day thunderstorms and some of those could have heavy downpours.

Partly sunny skies will be with us early on Friday but more thunderstorms could develop in the afternoon and evening.

Look for highs to top out in the middle 80s on Friday.

Saturday, the 4th of July, should be a decent day with partly sunny skies and it will be hot and humid. Once again, I cannot rule out some late day thunderstorms during Saturday. This will be something to watch as they will be scattered, but they could be a hold on some of the professional firework shows across central Virginia.

Sunday will be another hot and humid day with partly sunny skies, along with a chance of late day thunderstorms.

Looking ahead to Monday and Tuesday, we will see partly to mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 80s to near 90.
