NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Four suspects in a New Kent carjacking case will be arraigned in court Tuesday afternoon.
Anthony Williams Jr., Colin Dugger, Davis Jackson and Javanta Lightfoot are all facing several charges including armed carjacking.
According to authorities, the victim was robbed at gunpoint and had their vehicle stolen on Friday, November 27, in the area of N. Courthouse Road and Kentland Trail. The victim stated that the stolen car and a small red sports car left the scene.
Later, state police stopped the stolen vehicle on State Route 106 in New Kent. Several people inside the vehicle fled into the woods. The small red sports car was also stopped by police. New Kent Sheriff’s deputies and Virginia State Police troopers searched the area along with a State Police canine and helicopter. The suspects were located and taken into custody.
An investigation later determined the four suspects in the New Kent carjacking were responsible for a robbery on Vine Street in Richmond as well.
The suspects are expected in court at 1:30 p.m.
