PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — The man accused of killing four people in Petersburg will be in court Tuesday for a special hearing.
Alexander Hill, Jr. is expected to withdraw counsel and ask for a new lawyer in court today.
Hill was charged with four first degree murder charges after Pauline Wilkins, her daughter Vicki Chavis, her grand-daughter Missy Chavis and her 2-year old great-grandson were found dead inside a burned-out home on Harding Street on April 19, 2014. Investigators said two family members died from smoke inhalation and two others were stabbed.
Police searched for Hill, the prime suspect in the case, for more than a year before he was arrested last April at a soup kitchen in Buffalo, N.Y. U.S. Marshals said Hill had a fake ID and had been going by the name of Trent Dales.
