Richmond, Va (WRIC) – For the fifteenth consecutive year, Midas of Richmond and Virginia Blood Services (VBS) are teaming up to support local Virginians in need with six on-site blood drives at participating Richmond locations throughout 2016. Each Midas of Richmond donor will receive a free oil change and for every pint received, Virginia Blood Services will donate $5 to FeedMore. The first blood drive will be held this Saturday, January 30 – just in time to celebrate National Blood Donor Month.
“We are thrilled to once again work with Virginia Blood Services,” said Mark Smith, owner of Midas of Richmond. “One pint of blood can save three lives and $5 can feed 25 hungry kids. Giving blood is such an easy way to make an impact in Richmond.”
Since 2001, Midas of Richmond has hosted over 18,000 donors at its on-site blood drives, and hopes to reach its 20,000th donor this year. Although walk-ins are welcome, those who wish to participate are encouraged to make an appointment ahead of time through Virginia Blood Services. Participants must be 17 years of age or older (16 with signed parental consent).
The 2016 Midas of Richmond blood drives will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST on the following dates:
