HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Fire crews responded to a house fire on Monday afternoon in Henrico County.
Units responded to 1500 block of Savannah Ave off of Laburnum Avenue for the report of smoke coming from a home at 12:09 p.m. The first firefighters arrived on scene in five minutes and reported a single story home with smoke coming side and rear of it. Crews found fire inside the living room of the house that was quickly extinguished and contained to the room it started in.
Because of the quick work of fire crews, the fire was extinguished and damage was minimal. The fire was marked under control at 12:20 p.m.
Officials say the family will be able to return to the home.
No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
The home did not have a working smoke alarm.
The fire is currently under investigation by Henrico Fire’s Fire Marshal’s Office.
