RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Police are investigating after a woman was shot while driving to work in Richmond early Thursday morning.
Police say officers were called to Richmond’s southside in reference to a shooting. The victim told authorities she was standing next to a car in the area when she heard gun shots. Police are working to clarify where she was when she heard the gun shots.
The woman got into her car to seek cover and began to drive away when she realized she had been hit. She pulled into a parking lot in the 4400 block of Forest Hill Avenue before calling police.
She was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police do not believe she was the intended victim.
