(WRIC) — We’ve managed to fire up a few showers south and east of Richmond and the Tri-Cities this afternoon, but they’re lifting northeast and will end by early evening at the latest. Tonight features mainly clear skies with clouds building after midnight. We’ll see a low of 73 with southerly winds turning SW at 5-15mph.
Tomorrow features partly cloudy skies to start, with mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. After about 3pm we’ll see a few isolated showers and thunderstorms developing. There’s a marginal risk for severe storms tomorrow (one category below “slight risk”) for much of central Virginia, but the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula are under a slight risk for severe storms tomorrow afternoon. Otherwise, expect a HOT and STEAMY day tomorrow, with highs in the low to mid 90s. Wednesday at this point looks dry and mostly sunny, with a high of 91.
Thursday starts mostly sunny, but brings in scattered storms by late afternoon/early evening. Thursday’s high will be in the upper 80s. Friday will be a rather overcast day with scattered rain and storms. Highs are again in the upper 80s. The trend of 80s sticks around for the weekend and into at least early next week. The upcoming weekend so far looks to remain dry.
