RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A man was riding his bike on Robinson Street in the Fan District around 3:15 a.m. on Monday when a car pulled up to him and started shooting.
A bullet hit the victim in the leg, but he is going to be okay.
This random violence is troubling to people who live and work in the fan. 8News reporter Kristin Smith met with a couple of cyclists riding through the same intersection where the shooting happened. “I ride through here all the time. I feel really safe riding through here asking as you use some common sense about it,” said Brandon McPherson.
Another cyclist spoke on how the violence is not something he’s happy about. “It raises my awareness. You always need to be vigilant about riding,” said John Jenks.
There are still a lot of unanswered questions.
According to police, the victim says he didn’t recognize the person who shot him. The investigation is still on going.
