CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA (WRIC) – The Chesterfield County Police Department, working in coordination with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), continues to investigate a burglary that occurred at Southern Police Equipment, located at 7609 Midlothian Turnpike, during the early morning hours of Friday, Aug. 7.
Police responded to the business at approximately 8 a.m. Friday. At this point, the investigation indicates that at least two male suspects entered the business and stole multiple firearms. Surveillance cameras at Southern Police Equipment captured images of these suspects.
Surveillance cameras at a nearby convenience store captured images of three female suspects involved in the incident. After leaving the convenience store, the female suspects entered a blue sedan, drove to Southern Police Equipment and picked up the two male suspects.
The ATF is offering a reward in the amount of $2,500, which will be matched by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearms industry. Additionally, Crime Solvers offers a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest, which brings the total possible reward in this case to $6,000.
