RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A man is dead and a woman is injured after a series of shootings in Richmond on Tuesday.
Police say a man was going north on Dunn Avenue toward Brooklyn Park Boulevard when he was shot around 9:30 p.m. After the shot was fired, the man lost control of the vehicle and then collided with several parked cars.
Police are still investigating that shooting and a number of others that happened in the city Tuesday.
A woman was injured earlier in the day when she was shot in the stomach while sitting in her car in the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike.
She was taken to VCU Medical Center. Her injuries are considered non-life threatening.
The victim says she doesn’t know who shot her and police have not yet identified a suspect.
There was another shooting in Church Hill when someone shot into an elderly woman’s home.
Bullet holes could be seen in the wall in in the front door. Neighbors say crime has gotten out of control in that area.
