RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Members of the Health Community Resource Network (HCRN), a local networking group of professionals, recently volunteered with the nonprofit Project:HOMES to help an older couple in need.
The couple owns their own home, but their yard has been neglected as they’re dealing with health issues. The wife has been fighting a two-year battle with breast cancer.
Volunteers worked to landscape the overgrown yard. They cleared the yard, raking up leaves and trimming back shrubs, and they mulched the flower beds. Project:HOMES volunteers also recently built a wheelchair ramp for the older couple.
